28 Years From the Battle of Lapusnik

28 years ago at Lapushnik in Drenas came the fierce battle between the forces of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the Serb invaders, the battle known as the Battle of the Lapusnik Greca.
The battle took place three days in a row, 7 May to 9 May 1998, and was one of the most glorious KLA battles.
The war fought in Lapusnik's Gripka for control of this area has been most important for the Kosovo Liberation Army, as it made Pristina's Pristina route impeable for Serb forces.
Lapusnik's neck was kept blocked for months, enabling KLA fighters to move free in a large part of Kosovo's territory, and this allowed it to be organised and supplied with weapons. / KP
