Even 1 citizen initiative and 1 independent candidate in June 7th elections tonight closes the deadline for the application of new political subjects

CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi confirmed that in addition to 22 political parties and 3 coalitions that have earlier announced participation in the elections, even 1 civic initiative and 1 independent candidate are expected to compete in the June 7th elections for the Kosovo Assembly.
The Central Election Commission has announced that tonight, on May 10th, the period for new political subjects, such as coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates, will be completed online application to be certified for participation in these elections.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi has indicated to Express that “by around 7:00 today, the CEC has accepted a certificate application from the three coalitions announced earlier for this election, 1 civic initiative and 1 independent candidate”.
According to him, the new subjects that submitted the certificate application are:
The Coalition “Movement V ENVENTER!”, comprised of political parties Vetevendosje Movement, Guxo, Alternative and Albanian Democratic Party;
The Coalicion “Calicija V AKAT”, composed of political parties Democraticska Stranka Bošnjaka and Democraticska Stranka Vatan;
The United Coalition “Ashkali, consisting of political parties the Ashkalis Party for Integration, the Democratic Party of the Ashkaanli of Kosovo and the Movement for Co-operation;
Civil Initiative “Sloão Pobeão”; and
Independent candidate Esmir Cassi.
Elez has clarified that “under the Law for the General Elections, the political party is considered automatically certified, so the application for the certificate, which will be completed at midnight, applies only to new political subjects, which in this case are coalitions, civic initiatives and independent candidates”.
Meanwhile, two days later, on 12 May, according to the CEC, there will be an 11-day deadline for all new political subjects and political parties for submitting lists with the names of candidates for MPs.
