Trump dismisss US Attorney General

President Donald Trump has dismissed General Prosecutor Pam Bond from office, meanwhile, Deputy Prosecutor General Todd Blanche has been appointed as acting task manager at the helm of this institution, according to American media. Bond's download comes after reports that Trump was increasingly dissatisfied with the way she had handled files [...]

Bond's dismissal comes after reports that Trump was increasingly disappointed with the way she had handled justice department files concerning the deceased, the author of sexual crimes, Jeffrey Epstein, and the failure of this institution to prosecute some of the president's political opponents.

This decision also comes just weeks after Trump fired another cabinet member, Kristi Noem, from the post of secretary of National Security.

Noem left the post following strong reactions to the aggressive implementation of immigration policies in Minnesota, which led to the arms killings of two American citizens by federal agents. It was replaced by Markway Mullin, who was late senator of the United States for Oklahoma.

The sands in her clock are running out of”Eat a source for MS Now, stressing that the last few days Trump had discussed with the republic and allies about Bond's departure.

However, its departure has not been officially announced and remains unformed, being variable, according to MS Now. Meanwhile, Republican MP from South Carolina, Nancy Mace, wrote on the X platform: If reports that Lee Zeldin will replace Pam Bond as Attorney General are true, I welcome that decision. ”

“Bondi handled Epstein's files in a horrible way and made the situation worse than it should for President Trump,”Here, Mace. “pries a new general prosecutor eagerly. ”

During his second term, Trump has been more cautious in dismissing senior officials compared to the first mandate, which was marked by a series of unexpected evacuations, including that of his first Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Trump fired Session in May 2017 after he withdrew from overseeing the Justice Department's investigation into the 2016 presidential campaign with the Russians, which led to special adviser Robert Mueller's appointment to lead the investigation.

Bond is widely seen as responsible for poor publishing of files related to Epstein.

Following Trump's return to the White House last year, Bond initially promised the publication of Justice Department documents on Epstein, an issue that has aroused great interest in the president's MAGA political base.

It then withdrew from that promise, as it demonstrated reports of close impacts with Trump on social networks that resulted in containing already public information on Epstein.

The congress later overwhelmingly adopted a law forcing the Department of Justice to publish all files on Epstein by December 19th. Although some of the documents were published within that deadline, millions more were released late a few weeks later, while many other documents were still kept.

On March 17th, the House of Representatives' Supervisory Commission issued an official call for Bond, forcing him to submit for testimony on April 14th regarding the handling of Epstein files by the Justice Department.

A few months ago, on November 24th, Bond and the Department of Justice suffered a blow after the collapse of two federal criminal processes against former FBI Director James Comey, and New York Attorney General Lettia James.

Trump had pressured Bond to file criminal charges against Comey and James, who are political opponents, reports Panorama.al, broadcasts Periscope.

Comey was charged with false statements and obstructing justice regarding his testimony in Congress years ago. While James was charged with bank fraud and false statements against a financial institution, in connection with a mortgage loan taken to purchase a house in 2020.

Both denied the charges and described the prosecution as politically motivated.

A federal judge dismissed the cases against them after claiming that Lindsay Halligan, the acting prosecutor for the East District of Virginia, who had provided charges against Comey and James, had been no longer appointed.

Halligan is one of several senior federal prosecutors whose appointments during Trump's second term are considered invalid. /Periscope/
