The Democratic Party of Kosovo has reacted after the Constitutional Court ruling, which has rejected its demand regarding the provisional move in the process of liberalising the energy market.
MP The PDK, Ferat Shala in an interview for Online Economy, has stressed that their demand was aimed at delaying the implementation of this process until the preparation of necessary conditions, while accusing the Kurti Government of intervention.
He also clarified the PDK's position regarding the provisional demand, adding that Constitutional decisions should always be implemented.
The Democratic Party's request has been on the issue of the interim move. We need to clarify this and our position has been very fair, very reasonable, which has required a temporary measure until conditions are prepared, to inform all businesses and to start a normal process, which would have to start, which is actually proven to have not been well prepared for the liberalisation process. However, the decision is the verdict and we have no other comment about the Constitutional Court's decisions. They should be implemented, as always for the Democratic Party”, he says.
And, speaking of this Shala says the other side in this case Z. THE RRE is satisfied with the decision, as it says it has legitimized their policy.
“Normically that the side is satisfied because this has legitimised their policy at the expense of businesses and at the real loss of transparency and work methodology at the opening of the market”, he said.
MP Shala says the ZERE is a direct asset to government policy Kurti.
“Of course we are part of the political processes and we will see the overall actions on how the situation will turn out. Above all, it's very interesting for the country's energy sector to go into normality, the country's energy sector to get into what it should be, especially Z. The RRE is independent, which unfortunately and unfortunately for the country and the economy has already moved directly to the assets of Kurti government's daily policy, and in this statement the Democratic Party worries about precisely the fact that political interference in regulators”, he said.
He also mentioned sectors in which the government in Kurti is involved.
“We're referring to the issue of liberalisation, the issue of price raising, the issue of insufficient and professional non-refunding, already running for days and more, the issue of energy units, the issue of energy trade, the issue of planning, nontransparentity and so on. Only the recent scandal in the entity issue and the other scandal that already had to take a stand on the planned issue of price-making and political game that makes for certain moments means we have our doubts that they have become completely political mechanism”, Shala added.
Meanwhile, the Energy Regulatory Office through a communique has indicated that the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo has declared Kosovo's Democratic Party's request for the issue of liberalisation of the electricity market unacceptable.
The Energy Regulatory Office announced that this decision confirms the legality of its decisions and the process of liberalising the energy market.
According to the ZRRE, this process aims at creating a competitive, transparent and efficient market in the interest of consumers.
