NATO Military Committee Chairman Giuseppe Cavo Dragon has now declared that there is no plan for reducing KFOR mission troops.
In an interview for RK During his visit to Kosovo, the top official of the North Atlantic Alliance stressed NATO's commitment to a safe environment for all of Kosovo, Klankosova.tv broadcasts.
Dragons, among other things, said NATO regularly reviews its missions to assess the situation on the ground and adapt military presence.
“NATO does the review of missions each year to assess how they work, how personnel are engaged in certain operating areas, and we do so on periodic grounds, so there are no surprises. To give you an example, on the other hand, in 2023, at the end of the year, when that incident occurred in the north, NATO decided to expand, increase the mission by 1,000 additional troops. That means we're flexible in this sense, but honestly, as far as I understand, there's no troop reduction plan”.
His visit to Kosovo was held together with NATO Military Committee members, including 32 generals and Admirals from member states.
