(2 months ago)The War Crimes Investigation Sector (IML) and the Government Commission for Missing Persons, under the War Crimes Investigation Directorate (DHKL), in co-operation with the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) and the Government Commission for Missing Persons, has carried out a digging and exhumation action in the cemetery of Witnesses in the village of Krusha e Vogel, in Prizren. The move was carried out under the Constitutional Court's ordinance, the Special Department in Pristina.
During excavations at the identified location, investigators have encountered ossuary human remains of forensic interest, allegedly belonging to at least one person who figures on the National List of Missing Persons during the 19981999 war period.
After the proceedings were completed at the scene, remains were documented, inventoryd and transported to the Institute of Legal Medicine, where they would undergo detailed examinations, including autopsy and DNA analysis for identification.
The case remains under investigation, and results are expected to shed light on the fate of persons missing from the war are expected.
