Reuters writes that, Kosovo President Albulen Haxhiu's task officer, on Thursday announced the date of the new elections -- the third in just over a year after the Assembly failed to elect a new head of state.
“This vote prolongs a political crisis in Europe's newest country, which for the most part last year has not had a fully functional government since a divided parliament failed for months to elect a head of the Assembly”, Reuters reportedly reporting.
Furthermore, the agency quoted Haxhi as declaring after meeting with political leaders that the country is wasting valuable time in reforming processes.
“We are late with reforms for no reason. We can't afford to waste time”, she said.
