The IDF says the attack on Mallhalat, in central Iran, killed Mahdi Vafaei, chief engineer at the Lebanon Corps of the IRC's Wood Forces.
“over his 20 years as head of the Corps Engineering Branch, Vafaei advanced underground projects throughout Lebanon and Syria”, the Israeli Army says in a statement.
The IDF says Vafaei led efforts to create underground infrastructure for Hezbollah and Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, “and managed dozens of underground projects in Lebanon used to preserve advanced weapons”.
The war between the US, Israel and Iran began in late February, when American and Israeli forces launched attacks on Iranian military and nuclear targets, including the bases and facilities of the Revolutionary Guard linked to Iran's missile programme.
