Representatives of parties until yesterday in opposition have indicated they would respond positively to the presidency's invitation.
PDK Secretary General Vlora Citaku said her party has received an invitation and will attend the meeting.
We have received an invitation and are participating. The meeting is held tomorrow at 1500/”, Citaku has declared.
The former LDK deputy chief Jehona Lusshak-Sadriu has confirmed the turnout.
“Yes, we will participate in the” meeting, she said.
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has confirmed its participation, while Ardian Gjini will also be represented at the meeting.
“Yes, we received an invitation from Albulen Haxhiu for a meeting regarding the election date set, 3:00. The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo will participate in the meeting and will be represented by Deputy Chairman Ardian Gjini.”, AAK spokesman Kujali has told Reporter.
The meeting comes after the presidency has announced that Haxhiu has been co-ordinated with Central Election Commission Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi, over institutional preparations for organising the elections.
According to the presidency, at the meeting with Radojqi it has been discussed for legal deadlines, administrative preparations, interilateral co-ordination and the need for the election process to be held without delay and with high professional standards.
Kosovo is going to new parliamentary elections after the Parliament failed to elect the president within the 34-day constitutional deadline, which ended last night at 24:00.
Given the Constitutional Court's act, the Assembly is automatically distributed if the president is not elected within that deadline.
Haxhiu has declared that elections will be announced within the constitutional deadline, while after consultations with political parties the date of the vote is expected to be set.
Under legal deadlines, elections should be held within 45 days, with June 7th presenting the last possible date for holding them.
