This message raised questions about what, exactly, Trump believes it is the US responsibility for reopening the strait, which has been effectively closed amid the ongoing war.
He had earlier said that countries dependent on oil going through this strait, including those in Europe and Asia, should patrol this road, not the United States.
It was also not clear whether his promise of “a little more time” to clean up the strait meant that he expects the conflict to last longer than his previous assessment of two to three weeks.
