Mayor Hamza writes to President Osmani: Stand by to appoint second PDK member to the CEC without delay, failure to act is constitutional violation
Pristina, April 1st 2026, Democratic Party of Kosovo Chairman Bedri Hamza has sent an official letter to the country's president, Vjosa Osmani, demanding that it proceed without delay with the appointment of the second PDK member to the Central Election Commission.
In this letter, President Hamza stresses that the Kosovo Constitutional Court's ruling in the Ko81/26 case has finally clarified any uncertainty regarding the issue, confirming that representation of the issue The PDK, with two members in the CEC, is a constitutional right and not a matter of political interpretation.
According to him, failure to act at this stage would constitute violations of constitutional order and would create dangerous precedents for the democratic functioning of institutions in the country.
It calls on President Osmani to act in accordance with the Constitution and Constitutional Court decision, guaranteeing respect for the rights of political subjects and the integrity of the CEC.
