The head of the “Trepa Union”, Ibrahim Jonuzi, until he was deemed unfair not to divide the 13th salary for the employees of this company and other civil servants, has said the luxury and privileges in this case were taken by the government.

On Thursday in KTV's interactive “”, Jonuzi described this division as a major blow to miners.

The “is not that we have expected because even the promise was public with Prime Minister Albin Kurti. To regret the last moment, the great privilege and luxury have taken over the government, MPs and parliamentarians, bypassing other professions such as police, doctors or civil servants who are happy that they have received the salary, but the greatest disappointment has been to us of public enterprises we give to the country. This has been a huge blow to the miners, who have repeatedly asked what were the reasons why they were not separated. We've been waiting for us not to split up either, since the Government is the main shareholder in the company "Trepcha”, he said.

He has also accused the government of lack of investments in the company, saying even salaries have not increased for 10 years now.

The government has no right to say that it has invested in the mines of Shrepca, that I testify with facts and arguments, but the whole wage realisation is due to the labor and sweat of the miners. Since 2016 we haven't had a salary increase, despite 148x1> inflation, has added Jonuzi.

Even the head of the new Kosovo Energy Corporation Union, Nexhat Llumnica, has called the separation of civil servants discriminatory.

He has even warned protests and even strike in case their demands are not met, including the execution of the 13th salary.

I think these are either very ignorant or very discriminating because the double standard for KEK workers and other public enterprise workers. Now if for one benefit we are a public sector, and for another we are not, it is unrealistic from the Government of Kosovo. After all, we have the management, we have the board that will decide on the Public Enterprise Law because we are lucrative and self-financed companies for our wages, but this dual standard has been a great deal to us, and if they continue to not listen to us for our demands, for the benefit of the 13th pay and for public enterprises, then we have to organize ourselves with a magnificent protest, but why not strike if these demands are not realized... I'd invite Mr. Januzi and all public and private enterprise trade unions to make a grand protest before the government in order for this pay not to be discriminatory but to be equal”, he has said.

Llumnica has announced that the matter has also been addressed to the ombudsman, as Finance Minister Iron Murati has not been taken into account.

Parting the 13th salary for employees in the public sector has sparked numerous reactions.

The executive has been criticised for having left out the private sector, as well as for injustice within the public itself.
