The special removes the restrictions of visits on Thaci to a person, leaves it in place for the other 10

Thaci's “Protection argues that any possible risk for future publishing confidential information or for preventing the performance of specialised chamber procedures “is almost in existence as long as Mr. Thaci remains banned under the strict regime imposed by the Judicial Chamber II”, the decision said.

According to the ruling, the only Judge Christoph Gosnell has said that this person whose name is edited, unlike other people who, among many restrictions, have been denied visits, has participated in actively monitored visits with Thaci following the events that constitute the object of the case.

The court stressed that restrictions aim to prevent further detection of confidential information and to protect witness safety as well as the integrity of the judicial process.

In conclusion, the Special decided to immediately lift the ban on non-privileged visits for this person, while the ban on ten other visitors remains in effect.

The judge also stressed that these measures will be revised again at a later phase of the judicial process or if new circumstances can be presented that could affect detention conditions.

The Specialised Prosecutor's Office (ZPS) has wrapped up presenting its evidence in the court case to Hashim Thaci, the Smajt Union, Isni Kilajt, Fadil Fazliu and Hajredin Kuci in the case regarding justice management.

Otherwise, the only judge in this court case, Christoph Gosnell, has set March 23rd 2026 as the date the defence could hand over motions to drop the charges. While her responses should be handed over by March 25, 2026.

Depending on the judge's decisions on defence motions to drop the charges, the defence is obliged to show in case they present evidence. And if so, April 7th has been set as the date for the entry statements of the defence, which will then be heard by their witnesses, this process scheduled to last until April 24, 2026.

At the initial session on February 27th 2026, Hashim Thaci, the Smaj Union, Fadil Fazliu, Isni Klilaj and Hajredin Kuci, were declared innocent of the criminal acts being imposed on them.
