Spain will offer Ukraine a new military aid package worth 1 billion euros in 2026.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez declared this during a joint media conference with President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrinform reports, records Telegrafi.
I would like to present new measures from Spain first of all, a new military aid package worth 1 billion euros for 2026. In total, Spain's aid in this war has reached 4 billion euros”, Sanchez said.
He added that part of this assistance envisions joint production of defence products.
The head of the Spanish government also noted that Spain has recently begun funding the SAFE programme, which is also expected to help finance the needs of the Ukraine Ministry of Defence in 2026.
Sanchez assured that Ukraine could rely on Spain's help in both its defence against Vladimir Putin and the country's future reconstruction.
“Dear President [Zelensky], Spain will always help Ukraine. We should not forget who resides in the origin of this cruel and brutal war”, he stressed.
As Ukrinform reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a visit to Spain. /Telegraph/
