Through a Facebook post, he thanked the United States of America, even proposing that March 24 should return to the national date of Kosovo.
On March 24th, our attempt came out of its reach and became part of the international conscience. The values we stood for, the freedom, the dignity, and the right to exist became the military actions of the Western world. For 78 days, 78 nights in a row, NATO gave Kosovo delayed justice and in the most beautiful possible form from heaven”.
Now, almost three decades later, we remember that our freedom was not coincidence but historical compliance with our sacrifice with the right decision of our allies. From the standpoint of today's world, we may be able to see how fortunate and how rare this agreement was, so today we have a sacred obligation. To preserve this friendship, strengthen our Euro-Atlantic path and never forget why and how we were set free. Because freedom and friendship are not just memories. It's responsibility every day. And on this responsibility, maybe we should start from formal treatment on March 24th as the national date of the Republic of Kosovo. Not only as a calendar sign, but as a moment of memory for the day when history changed direction for Kosovo”, the LDK head has written.
