“Civil protection services are interfering to extinguish fire in Ra's Laffan industrial zone following the Iranian attack, as major damage has been caused to”,Says the ministry statement.
The attack comes after Tehran had warned it would hit energy infrastructure across the Gulf in response to the United States and Israel's joint attack on its gas plants.
According to reports, Ras Laffan's plants for liquid natural gas (GNL) were under way because of the Iranian threat to the Gulf energy infrastructure.
Qatar has completely interrupted the production of liquid natural gas due to these tensions, and any damage to the plants could extend supply cuts beyond May, threatening to take out a fifth of the GNL's global supply.
