Removing measures from the European Union towards Kosovo is a delayed but welcome decision. These measures were imposed as a result of the tensions and political incoordination of this Government with our allies, yet progress cannot be achieved through punishment, but through partnership and co-operation.
For Europe, the problem was historically Serbia, not Kosovo. Kosovo is part of strengthening stability and security in our region. As a result, these punitive measures have unfairly affected citizens, the economy and our European perspective.
Our citizens would not have to be punished because of the government's accountability.
As the country with the most pro-European citizens in the Western Balkans, Kosovo deserves fair treatment, full support and a clear path towards European integration, without obstacles delaying the process.
