Government Welcomes Full Removal of EU Measures
Pristina, 17 March 2026
The government of the Republic of Kosovo welcomed the step taken by the European Union for the complete removal of punitive measures that were wrongly imposed on Kosovo.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Glauk Konjufca welcomed the European Commission's announcement and stressed that it must now move on the road to membership.
“E welcomes today's confirmation by the European Commission on the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee: all EU measures towards Kosovo have been removed, and all financial assistance previously suspended has been released. We expect this to open a new phase of constructive engagement and concrete progress on our way to the EU”, Deputy Prime Minister Konjufca wrote in X.
