According to her, at the moment of admission, the child was in serious health condition, with signs of hypottrophy (in doubt of malnutrition) and difficulty in communication.
We inform you that a 5-year-old kid from Lipjan has been brought to Central Emergency, referred to by the QKMF Lipjan, due to severe injuries on both legs associated with intense gangrenous changes. In addition, she said that shortly after admission to Central Emergency, consultancy has been carried out by plastic surgeons and pediatrics, who have recommended emergency hospitalisation at the Clinic of Pediatrics.
In view of allegations of potential child abuse, competent organs, including police and social services, have been announced, in line with procedures and legal obligations for child protection. After accepting Intensive Medical Care, the child has been subjected to complete laboratory and imaging tests. The intense treatment of wounds is ongoing, while multidisciplinary consultations have also been carried out with vascular surgeon, plastic surgeon and orthopedic”.
Qyqalla also pointed out that because of its severe psychological state, psychologist, child psychiatrist, and social worker have been involved in the treatment process, with the aim of valuing and providing needed psychosocial support.
The child is currently without parental guidance or legal custody and is under constant supervision of medical staff and social workers, in line with child protection and care procedures in such situations”.
Meanwhile, from Kosovo Police have indicated that a minor was sent to the University Clinical Centre in Kosovo because of the poor situation.
The case has occurred in Lipjan, while his parents have been arrested due to family violations.
