A serious accident at the workplace occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Porzellangasse in Austria's AlserRund district. Parts of a building site collapsed, leaving four people dead. Periscopi finds that part of the victims, unfortunately, has Kosovo.
According to the professional fire brigade, around 2:30 p.m., during concrete work on an attic reconstruction at an old building in Porzellangasse near Bauernfeldplatz, the scaffold parts and bars collapsed. They fell into the backyard.
Deaths were confirmed hours later.
According to fire spokesman Martin Hoffman, emergency services were announced at around 2:30. After about 90 minutes, the ambulance service reported a seriously injured victim. Hours later, the total rate of the building accident became clear: after the deceased's relatives were notified, the spokesman reported that four people had died in the accident.
According to Hoffman, the whole structure collapsed in the accident, along with the five people in it. Other construction workers helped rescue teams that had arrived since in the rescue of the seriously injured man. As the fire spokesman further explained, the operation later proved extremely difficult.
In some cases construction materials were to be moved by hand. The heavily injured worker lay at the scene of the accident for a few minutes before he could be saved. Emergency services reported that 45-year-olds had suffered serious head injuries, spine injuries and arm fractures, reports Wien.orf, broadcast Periscope.
