CEC member reacts to Kurt: We haven't discussed the election date or approved the Secretariat letter.

He has suggested that the CEC has not discussed the election date, nor has he approved the Secretariat's letter that Kurti mentioned today.

In his Facebook account, he wrote that the CEC has never made a decision to give the President a date for the election.

After the President's meeting with representatives of political parties regarding the date of early elections, as members of the CEC, along with colleague Arian Elshani, we have met with CEC Chairman and asked him if he is invited to consultations by the president, to consider two issues:

We have a legal obligation to hold elections every time they are declared,

Let's not be a party to the date, because that's not the CEC's attitude and I'd have to expose it publicly.

The CEC has been ready for elections on both December 21st and 28th. We, as a body, have never been asked about the date of the election.

Whoever has done such paperwork has had nothing to do with internal discussions of the CEC.

Whatever recommendation has been made, it could only be personal, by any designated individual, and not the official position of the CEC.

Therefore, the CEC, as a body, has never discussed or made a decision to give the President a date for the election.
