According to reports, among the detainees are some famous characters in Turkey, such as the former Beşaktaş president, Fikret Orman, former Galatasaray, Burak Elmas, businessmen Hakan Sabancı and Kerim Sabancı, renowned actor Hande Ercel, model Didem Soydan and Güzide Duran moderat.
The operation took place at 16 locations in Istanbul, leading to the detention of 14 suspects, while two others have issued warrants.
In an official statement published Wednesday, the Istanbul General Prosecutor-General announced that the investigation is aimed at protecting public morality, social structure and family order.
According to the statement, ban orders are based on evidence that suspects have been found in possession of narcotics for personal use or involved in facilitating their use.
