Over 83 thousand signatures have been collected so far within the framework of the National Petition initiated by the Orgranges of War Veterans that will address Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague.
So has the chairman of O. VL-KLA, Hysni Gucati, in an interview for Online Economy, which has shown that the petition has been signed by a member of the Serb community as well.
He said the signing collection process is doing well and that the deadline ends at the end of April.
So far it's going well, I'd rather go, but you better go. On the basis of the information we have, in Kosovo alone, we have over 83,000 signatures up to this point, that means for a three-week term, if I act there somewhere. Without counting Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc, as well as the diaspora. There's over 26,300 online if I miss. In Albania I haven't received information about where it went. I should thank the citizens of Albania for helping us there. So it seems like a lot of interest, we have another month, it means by the end of April. Finally, by the end of April, we are preparing to start for The Hague, or to those who send us to special rooms”, he said.
Gucati stressed that the petition motive is to prove civic support for former KLA leaders and to reject Narrativeva, as he said, that they do not enjoy support.
“Motive is, you know, even protests have been behind a motive all the time, with the market reality. The Special Court that Albanian citizens are in favour of the KLA means they are in support of the heads of state, the leaders of the KLA, and not as Jack Smith said at the time, and others who have no support from citizens, or even Trandafilova himself. The motive is that it is a motive that with the market a reality, with a truth exposed, that KLA leaders have no war crimes, and the Kosovo Liberation Army has not been a criminal organisation, but has been the nation's liberation organisation. Protests stand at 50,000, 60 thousand, can stand at 100,000, 200 thousand, but when you take over half a million signatures, or over half a million, or count more signatures to The Hague, then you know the number the judges themselves will check. This must be verified by the signatures there that they themselves will be convinced that there is certainly some great support for the members of the war, even the people who have led this country. And this is one that we do, the signature is the last, we did six protests you know, two shares now even the signature. It means we're good to go. I thank all the citizens who are taking the time and the response, they are signing, they are going into organisations”, he said.
He announced that signatures are being collected even door-to-door in villages by OVL-KLA branch activists.
We've made a completely different initiative. Our initiative is through villages we're working hard, people who go from Kosovo branches, they've taken initiative, they've gone out, they're in the squares, but the majority is going to be driving out, there's three-four people going through the village and working in different villages, every door to the door to collect signatures, houses for house”, he said.
Gucati urged citizens to sign the petition, stressing that online procedure lasts only a minute.
My call is for the citizens, you blow the appeal to all the citizens, don't hesitate to spend a minute signing time. Online is a lot faster with the app or the sign, so you have a minute to work. I had called on all Kosovo citizens, even all Albanian citizens to sign it, not to hesitate. I want to thank both our local universities in Kosovo and Albania and Macedonia. The university people who have been working hard these days, they too have gathered, and all others, and our leaders here in Kosovo, like Ramush Haradinaj, you know, Bedri Hamza, all of us, 18x1>, he said.
He announced that the petition was also signed by a member of the Serb community, who, according to him, has expressed readiness to testify in The Hague.
I'm telling you with the utmost sincerity, we have from the Serb community. Yeah, I'll make it public later, when I get the list from a municipality where you'll see the name they sign. A member of another community signed the petition and said: I, he says, if I called in court or had a wish to make an appeal, swear, to take innocent people away, crime has hit Serbia. It's the Serb community. The Serb community is together. It's named after, and it's all about writing a petition, and there's a call in the municipality of Kline, which means that it's supposed to have a boo and write a petition. So for us, it's a huge success that we're seeing people conscious, given that Kosovo is all of the country. In Kosovo they are all right. Not criminals understood, not people who have committed crimes in Kosovo, but those who do not commit crimes in Kosovo, those who love the country well. It is Kosovo that can all experience”, he said.
The KLA War Veterans' Organisation has launched the National Petition to Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague on 25 February.
