The meeting comes nearly four months after administration Trump brokered a ceasefire at the Gaza Strip that allowed the release of all remaining Israeli hostages.
Since then, however, both sides have charged each other with almost daily ceasefire violations, and hundreds of Palestinians have been killed, according to the Gaza-led Ministry of Health in Hamas.
However, a senior American official rejected the idea that progress in Gaza has stalled.
“We don't have illusions of the challenges related to demilitarisation, but we are encouraged by what brokers” have reported, the senior US official said Wednesday.
While the US are calling Thursday's meeting an inaugural meeting, members of the Peace Board met last month in Switzerland for a signing ceremony in the World Economic Forum margins.
Agenda
Today's meeting will begin at 9: 00 a.m. with Tirana clock.
Trump will arrive at 10:00 to deliver the opening speech and sign a number of resolutions dealing with Gaza.
The chairman of each delegation present was instructed to offer a brief speech during which they were encouraged to announce their contributions to Gaza's reconstruction efforts.
There will also be speeches by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, senior Trump deputys Jared Kouchner and Steve Witkoff, US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and High Representative of the Peace Board for Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, says the US official.
Rubio is a member of the Peace Board Executive Board, while Kouchner, Witkoff, Blair and Mladenov are members of the Peace Board's Executive Board of Gaza. Both panels are expected to play a role in overseeing Gaza's post-war management.
Trump will participate in a group photo before leaving at 11: 00 p.m., while the event will continue for another hour, according to a schedule sent to participants.
