The union has called for immediate harmonisation of the minimum wage in RTK, in line with the growth of the minimum wage in the public sector, which by July is expected to reach 500 euros.

The public broadcaster's “can't be treated differently than the rest of the public sector. Any delay in this regard constitutes injustice and violation of the principle of equality before law”, the Union's response says.

Likewise, the Union has called on Kosovo's Parliament to ensure real and sustainable budget growth for the second reading. RTK.

According to her, RTK is not receiving financing of 0.7 per cent under the law and has been removed by 2.2m euros, creating serious financial uncertainty and hampering institutional development.

The union has also called for the 13th salary application for RTK workers, stressing that their exclusion from this right constitutes discrimination and violation of legal rights.

“If this right is realised for other categories in the public sector and RTK is excluded, then we are dealing with clear discrimination”, the statement noted.

Also, the union has asked for public clarification from the RTK Board and management if financial report and formal demand for budget growth has been submitted, assessing that transparency is institutional obligation.

The response requires that any contract and decision taken during the period of institutional uncertainty be considered by the Commission for Media and the Commission for Business and Transference, as well as ensure strict legal control until full institutional consolidation.

The union has warned that, if these requirements are not addressed, protests will begin in the coming days and follow all legal ways to protect workers' rights.

Our requests are based on law and on the principle of equality. We will not accept any solution that bypasses them”, the response concludes.
