PDK following the adoption of Resolution: We will continue to be guardians of the Constitution and of the right to fair justice

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has welcomed and thanked MPs for adopting the resolution in defence of the Kosovo Liberation Army's rights of deliverers in The Hague.

Today, during the first session of the X-seat legislature of the Republic of Kosovo, at the request of the PDK Parliamentary Group, the resolution drafted by independent experts, covering the protection of Hashim Thaci's rights, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi and others was put in order.

The resolution highlights the commitment of the Parliament to respecting constitutional order, including Amendment No. 24 of the Constitution, as well as the necessity of implementing international standards for a fair trial and protection of the tribunal's fundamental rights and freedoms.

The document calls for the Specialised Chambers and the Specialised Prosecutor's Office to ensure transparency, accountability and full respect of legal standards, while confirming the support of Kosovo institutions for mechanisms needed to protect the rights of KLA leaders and fighters.

The PDK has named this vote an act of state responsibility and institutional unity, underlining that protection of the fair legal process and respect for the dignity of the liberation war are values exceeding party affiliations.

This resolution was adopted by 90 votes per, 1 against and no abstention. The LDK did not participate in the vote after no request was approved for this resolution to be added points for post-war killings.
