Uk Lushi criticises Vjosa Osmani: Don't use America for presidential campaign. Kosovo would do well to elect Thaci president.

In a public post, Lushi has stressed that it is unfair that support or reports with the United States be used as campaign arguments. According to him, any citizen who meets the conditions for election president of Kosovo would respect partnership with the US and would not act contrary to state interests.

He has added that the US co-operates with anyone who chooses Kosovo to lead the state, rejecting the idea that a preferred candidate exists from Washington. Kosovo's “Parties should not fall back to the claim that America wants a candidate/a doll”, Lushi wrote.

According to him, the president or president should reflect the political consensus and spectrum in the country, not the personal ambitions of individuals. Lushi has also mentioned former President Hashim Thaci, saying Kosovo “would have done well to elect President”, but added that, in the absence of such a decision-making, a candidate proposed by the opposition should be taken into consideration.

In the end, he has stressed that leaders should be in state service rather than use the state as an instrument for personal careers, warning against, as he has called, the instrumentizing of genuine pro-American sentiment of Albanians for electoral purposes.
