Kurti mentions former KLA leaders being tried at The Hague: History Will Make Judgment Right

The Kosovo government has held the solemn session in honour of the 18th anniversary of Independence.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said the state, independence and Constitution are new, but Kosovo's language, culture and people are ancient.

Kurti has also mentioned former KLA leaders being tried by Specialised Chambers.

He has said he cannot remember the Declaration of Independence without reminding those who contributed to state building.

The state, independence and Constitution are really new, but our language, culture, and people are ancient. Our state is built and stands for the values of freedom of democracy, equality of justice, prosperity and inclusion. Every citizen regardless of his language and ethnicity, religion or background is equal to his law. We cannot help but remember that the representatives who participated in the Republic's Declaration of Independence are today unjustly held in The Hague. Each one's contribution to freedom and independence is precious, and history will be the one who will render the right judgment. This year of independence finds us at the beginning of the new government mandate. The things ahead are many, but high is the goal we have before ourselves. Teachers and students, doctors and workers, women and men, girls and boys, we all have to give our best. Everybody's expecting this. Let's make them proud by working and strengthening the state. We as the government cabinet are only instrument in implementing these” goals, he said.

The box has said Kosovo has achieved much as state and society for 18 years. It has cited strengthening the law, the economy, international victories in sports, art and culture, visa-free movement and even application to the European Union and the Council of Europe.
