Kosovo police in the north again find weapons, military vests, ammunition and other illegal means

In the course of citizens' acceptance of information, today, on the date 03.02.26, Kosovo Police have accepted information that in a basement of a building on “Vasilije Ostroski”, in North Mitrovica, there may be suspicious illegal means. According to a media report it becomes known that after the information received, police have taken immediate action, where during the search, in a collective basement of the building respectively, they have found and seized weapons.
The weapons seized are 3 long guns, 1 rounds of foot, 1 Kondak for long arms, 764 rounds of various calibres, 14 rounds, 10 rounds of bullets, 1 handbunks, 2 military vests, 2 military jackets, military uniform T-shirts, 1 pairs of military pants, 1 pairs of textile materials, glue tape.
Meanwhile, the State Prosecutor has been announced regarding the case, who has directed the initiative of the case for criminal work: “Keeping possession, control or unauthorized possession of weapons”.
It is also known that in this case there are no persons arrested, while the case remains under investigation.
Kosovo police thank citizens for their continued co-operation and assistance, as well as encourage any suspicious cases or illegal action to report to the 192 emergency number or to the nearest police station. Only through mutual co-operation can we ensure a safer environment for all citizens, indiscriminately.
