O V L-KLA praises KLA four-year speeches, Sopi: It was a dignified confrontation

Under emotion, members of the War Veterans Organisation delivered the latest speeches by former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders to be held today in The Hague Specialised Chambers. Subhead of O VL-KLA, Fatmir Sopi, described their presentation as a two-way confrontation with truth before the court.

Sopi for Kosovas, said their speeches are a clear testimony to the domestic commitment and resistance in the face of a long judicial process.

“was a summary of each's homeland event. It was a promonition before a court of all that without fear and hiding nothing, telling the truth and their commitment to the liberation of the country. According to him, the charges against former KLA leaders are source in Belgrade and are influenced by circles that have historically opposed the Kosovo Liberation War.

“E today, I believe they are convinced even in justice, because the four said that even though we were wronged, we have full confidence in justice and demanded by the court to decide only without emotion, but only according to the facts and evidence that she possesses the” court, he said.

Commenting separately on the appearances of the accused, Sopi praised former President Hashim Thaci's speech, which, according to him, presented his journey from studies to the process of statehood in co-operation with the US and the European Union.

For Kadri Weselin, he said he clearly argued the reasons for involvement in war by dismissing the charges against him.
“Mr. Vessel also gave his position and argued the reason for his commitment as at war - that is, after the closure of the schools and the continued depression of Serbian power - gave his attitude about his involvement in war, why he is engaged in statehood and documented that no basis exists and no charge stands which has been filed against him”, Sopi said

“Mr. Rexhep Selimi, as always steadfast, convinced in his attitudes and proud of his past, never denying existence and especially where the prosecution presents his co-operation with Adam Yashari as a charge. This, on the contrary, turns it back and says that it is not an accusation, but it is an honor for me to be the one who tells me that I have cooperated with Adam Jasharin”, he added.
As far as Jakup Krasniqi, deputy chairman of O The VL-KLA highlighted its many-year prison sufferings, both in Serbia and in detention at The Hague.

“The man who is suffering the 16th year in prisons, as of Serbia as well as in undeserved prisons of the international community, in this case that only has the Kosovo Court, but is a completely foreign court. Indeed, Banca Jakup's appearance causes us emotions because I am also his associate in the prisons of Serbia, and he has never deserved at this age to deal with something peaceful, to argue with our fair liberation war, and to be prosecuted in trials at this age” he said.

Speaking of the process's performance in The Hague, Sopi indicated convinced that the court already has the whole process clear.

He cited the testimony of international personalities, such as former US official James Rubin and NATO representatives, including General Wesley Clark, stressing that it is incredible to assume that they have been manipulated.

“We wonder how it is possible for the Prosecutor to think of such a thing, that we have manipulated the United States of America and NATO to come into the war and join us for stopping a great evil, which our people had put close to total annihilation.”, he said.
As regards expectations for the decision to be made for former KLA leaders, he stressed he expects their release.

“If there is only one bit of justice somewhere, it is fully evidence that these rescuers are innocent and we look forward to their release and to return to their families, to their fellow fighters, to their own people, and to the state for which they have given much, have sacrificed many and are the most meritors of the nation and martyrs who have given life to these people are the most responsible for the freedom we now enjoy, he added.

Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague has held the latest preamble of concluding statements in the judicial process against former KLA leaders, held by November 2020 detention.
