Isa Mustafa against coalitions with VV: If the LDK or PDK joins, we will have government without opposition

The Democratic League of Kosovo should not be included in the coalition with Vetevendosje Movement, says former party leader Isa Mustafa. According to him, there is no reason to strengthen the Vetevendosje Movement further into government.

He declares for Kosovo Press that the LDK can be strengthened more only if it develops a strong opposition against LVV's power.

I see no reason for us to strengthen this position more than it is. Because they had 57 votes. They can make decisions they want. For me, the LDK can strengthen more if it develops a strong opposition, even more helps Kosovo with strong opposition than that power in Kosovo should have strong opposition. If the LDK or the PDK go and join Vetevendosje, then we will have a government in Kosovo without opposition. I don't relate to the past, with the story of whether we made good opposition or didn't. But what is now, with 57 deputies in the Vetevendosje Movement Assembly, it is imperative that we in Kosovo have a strong opposition”, he says.

Mustafa expresses surprise at the victory of over 51 per cent of Vetevendosje Movement in recent elections, until, according to him, he offered neither political programme.

According to him, despite the big victory in the 28 December elections, it is unclear how the Vetevendosje Movement will operate in the formation of new institutions.

He also cites the Constitutional Court's recent act of electing deputy leaders from the Serb community. For this reason, Mustafa also sees difficulties in the complete constitution of the Parliament. / KP
