Monument “NEWBORN”, symbol of February 17th and birth of the state of Kosovo, after the end of the dye, tonight is “imprisoned” by the Special Court.
Volunteers of the platform “Lyria has a name”, symbolically surrounded this monument with fences of iron, turning this icon of freedom and independence into a prison image.
The siege also contains a specialized room logo with the inscription: Kosovo prisoner!
Eliza Hoxha from the organisation “Freedom has a name”, has said that this civic response is against an injustice they consider historical and affects the foundations of our state.
NEWBORN, the symbol of the 17 February and birth of our Republic, as she has said, is being symbolically imprisoned to reflect the sense of injustice that citizens and Kosovo are experiencing in the face of court processes under way in Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague.
With the inscription “Kosovo imprisoned”, Hoxha has said they are expressing indignation over these processes, as our history, the freedom struggle and the process of Kosovo statehood are being tried there.
As detained in The Hague, which five years is being held by Hashim Thaci, former president and prime minister who read the Kosovo Declaration of Independence and led the process of statehood, former prime ministers Jakup Krasniqi and Kadri Veselini are being held, as well as former delegation Rexhep Selimi, key figures of resistance, freedom and independence of the state of Kosovo./Periscopi/
