Today the inaugural meeting of the Peace Board is held in Washington, with President Osmani attending.

26 countries participate in this new facility, among which Albania and Kosovo have confirmed their presence.

Albania ratified the accession by 110 votes in the country, following Edi Rama's invitation from Donald Trump, while the country's president Vjosa Osmani represented Kosovo in Davos, where she signed the founding document.

President Osmani has praised Kosovo's involvement in the Peace Board as a member and co-founder, as one of the country's most important foreign policy developments in recent years, stressing that this step directly empowers Kosovo's international subjectivity.

Kosovo's “Republic remains committed to working closely with our main ally, the US, and the Peace Board to bring concrete results, to support peace and stability in regions affected by conflicts, and to promote a future based on co-operation, security and shared prosperity”, President Osmani stressed.

Trump will chair his Peace Board's first meeting Thursday, with unresolved issues on Gaza's future, which hinge on an event expected to include representatives from more than 45 countries.

Disarming Hamas militants, the size of the reconstruction fund and the flow of humanitarian aid to the war-torn Gaza population are among the main questions that will likely test the board's effectiveness in the coming weeks and months, Reuters writes.
