The democratic couple were called by the House of Representatives overseer committee, led by the Republicans, investigating Epstein's ties with powerful figures and the treatment of his crimes. Bill Clinton stressed that a closed session could be used for political purposes, while Hillary Clinton said the couple had already shared what they know and was ready for a public process.
The Department of Justice published more than 3 million documents, photos and videos related to the investigation of Epstein, who died in 2019 while in custody. The Clintons are mentioned in the documents, but there is no evidence that applies them to criminal activities. The former president has admitted trips to Epstein's plane for humanitarian work, but has denied visits to his private island.
