(6 months ago)The Constitutional Court in Gjakova, in three separate hearings held last night, has ruled by rejecting the Constitutional Prosecutor's requests in Gjakova for appointing the detention measure against 22 people, due to the suspicion that they have already carried out the criminal act of forging the results of the vote. According to the prosecution's request, “contains suspicion that the defendants, in the quality of the vote-counting commission leaders, with authorisations received by the CEC, at the Gjakova Municipal Counting Centre, located in the sports gym Shani Niushi, with illegal actions have intervened in the voting process, counterfeiting his results, with cases violating the integrity of the election process and the free will of voters”.
The trial of the preliminary procedure, Drilon Harachia, has estimated that the legal conditions for the appointment of the detention measure to the defendants have not been met, and that to them it has set the measure of presentation at the” police station, the Constitutional Court announced in Gjakova.
With that decision, the defendants will appear at the police station for a period of 1 month, which will be counted from February 6th 2026 to March 5, 2026.
