A Kosovo citizen, wanted by international arrest warrant for criminal work “attempted murder”, has been extradited from Switzerland to Kosovo.
According to Kosovo Police's official announcement, extradition has been carried out by the Directorate for International Police Co-operation, in co-ordination with relevant police units and justice institutions.
The suspect had been arrested by Swiss authorities, as international arrest warrants from Kosovo's justice institutions had been issued against him. He was suspected of criminal activity “attempted murder” and, according to authorities, had avoided justice over a period of time.
The extradition was made possible thanks to close co-operation between the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo and those of Switzerland.
After arriving in Kosovo, the suspect has been handed over to relevant police units for continuing further legal procedures.
Kosovo police have stressed that they will continue co-operation with local institutions and international partners, with the aim of preventing, investigating and uncovering criminal activities, as well as tracking and arresting people wanted by justice./Periscopi/
