Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has reacted after the final words former KLA leaders gave in the judicial process to them at The Hague.
Rama has distributed on the social Facebook network, Hashim Thaci's speech made today in his final address in the process under way in Kosovo's Specialised Chambers.
Besides the video, Rama has written a short message: “Freedom has the name”.
Former President Hashim Thaci was fully acquitted in his final address at the Special Court in The Hague in the war crimes trial and crimes against humanity.
He said Morbyde plans were only making Slobodan Milosevic, and for this he said he was initially forced to leave the country.
“Seeing the massacres in my people, me, as well as many others, could not remain indifferent”, he said.
Thaci said he returned to Kosovo in the spring of 1998 because he said he could not stand by when family and people were facing extinction.
For that I am very proud and never regrets”, he said.
Thaci said it was hard to hear these accusations when he said he was sure if you would see your family again.
I didn't come back to risk my life for control and power. I returned home to risk my life for freedom and peace”, he said.
Thaci asked whom he would take over when he was in Milosevic's hands, thus referring to the prosecution's charges.
He said he was “in continued contact with US administration officials”.
The battle could be finished by itself NATO, and that's what happened. Were it not for the NATO intervention, Kosovo's freedom would not have been. There would be no independence for Kosovo. Thus, independence was not the instrument for acquiring power”./Periscopi/
