Eugen Cakoli from KDI has reacted to this development, saying that “solidarity with Palestinian suffering is natural” does not give us the right to turn foreign policy into theatre.
He said Kosovo institutions should ratify all agreements that advance Kosovo's international position.
We are fortunate that Kosovo is never lined up behind the revolutionary slogans of the radical left-wing ♫70s, which see the world only in ideological clich and in imaginary conflicts of the type <x1mperialism vs liberation”. Kosovo would probably not exist today, nor would it be part of any international mechanism, if it were against the West, especially the United States. Without their intervention, which through the ideological lens of extreme left is often labeled as <x3mperialism”, today we would have no freedom, no state, no security, no Euro-Atlantic perspective. Solidarity with Palestinian suffering is natural. But this does not give us the right to turn foreign policy into theatre where any Western engagement is presented as moral guilt. The less Kosovo is used as a megaphone for global ideological battles that sometimes do not understand even the very ones who articulate”.
Therefore, says Cakoli, our institutions, reflecting the clear pro-Western orientation as rational choice and as the strategic position of the vast majority of Kosovo citizens, must ratify all agreements that advance Kosovo's international position.
