Chocolate, in his post, also pointed out that the secular character of public institutions is violated when such an institution links its decision with a religious practice.
The understanding of students fasting is normal. But changing the entire “schedule due to Ramadan” indicates institutional orientation according to a religious reference. And public decisions should not rely on religious reference because it gives politics an unnecessary symbolic ground, he wrote.

The Education Directorate's decision in Pristina to re-organise school schedules by officially rationalising it with the start of the month of Ramadan is wrong because it sets religion as the formal reason for institutional organisation and turns public schools away from the professorial base.
Religious freedom is individual and should be respected as such. No one disputes fasting or the dignity of believers. But when a public institution links its decision to a religious practice, the secular character of public institutions begins to become vulnerable.

This is not an anti-religious issue, but an institutional standard. Public education in Pristina needs focus on the same quality and order for all, not on decisions that give space to <x0-> frame” with religious elements under respect.
