Former chief prosecutor in the trial against Milosevic visits Recak's Memorial Memorial Memorial Memorial, Buja: We met with survivors of the massacre

The British lawyer specialising in international criminal law was there with former Kosovo Liberation Army commander for the Nerodime area, Shukri Buya.

Today, with deep respect, responsibility and humility before history, we stayed at Recak's Memorial Memorial Memorial Memorial Memorial Memorial, along with great friend of truth and justice Sir Geoffrey Nice, as well as friend Taulant Hodaj. On the land where the conscience of the world was shaken by serious crime against innocent civilians, we met with residents and survivors of the massacre, living witnesses of a wound that remains open in our collective memory. We visited the memorial complex, houses and key locations where innocent lives were taken, but where dignity, stability, and truth” were never removed, Buja wrote on a Facebook post.

He said Sir Geoffrey Nice's “admission to Recak has a particular historical and moral significance”.

It is a symbol of international justice, the man who courageously, integrity and professionalism led the prosecution against Slobodan Milochev, putting a regime that caused countless suffering. His contribution to the protection of truth and law, including my support with Kosovo's Specialised Chambers, to me is extremely precious”, he wrote.

I am deeply honored by his visit to this place of martyrdom. My gratitude and that of the people of Kosovo towards him is permanent. I wish him long life, health and strength, because figures like him are guarantees that truth does not fade, justice does not bow down, and the sacrifice of the fallen does not forget. Always grateful”, Buya added.
