So far, the candidacy has been made openly by the current president, Vjosa Osmani, but seems to have no broad support from MPs.
Names from the Jashar family were also spoken of in the opinion. It was even Foreign Minister Glauk Konjufca, who said today after meeting his Albanian counterpart, Elisa Spiropali, that there is consensus among the political parties so far only for a president to come from the Jashar family.
From the Jashar family, however, they have denied such ambitions.
It was originally Murat Yashari, son of Rifat Jashar, brother of Adam Jashar, who said there is no interest or intention to become president of Kosovo, and that “I have made clear to political parties what are the reasons why I don't do it, because over my shoulders is a huge burden”.
Later, the former head of the Weekend municipality, Bekim Jashar, the son of Hamza Jashar, the other brother of Adem Jashar, told Radio Free Europe that he maintains the attitude of his uncle's son, adding “I have nothing to add to that, no point or wait”. Conjufca had not wanted to speak when she was asked if she had the will of the Jashar family in this matter.
Days earlier, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stayed in Prescas, Skowright, at the Jashari family. He has confirmed to the media that he has talked to Rifat Jasharin “on political issues”.
