Whatsapp, who is owned by Meta, pledged that he will continue efforts to return his app services to Russia as well.
Russia has begun to limit some calls to Telegram and Whatsapp, accusing foreign-owned platforms that they are not sharing data with law bodies in cases of fraud and terrorism.
“Whapp is private, encrypted from edge to edge, and challenges governments' efforts to violate people's right to safe communication, so Russia is trying to block it for over 100 million Russian citizens”, Whatsapp said in a communiqué.
We will continue to do everything we can to enable encrypted communication for people everywhere, including in Russia”, says the communique.
The telegram said its designers are using artificial intelligence tools to monitor public platform parts and remove millions of harmful messages every day.
“Telegram actively fights the harmful use of its platform, including calls for sabotage or violence and fraud”, Telegram said in a communique.
Russia has crashed with foreign technology platforms for several years regarding content and data storage.
Russia's ongoing conflict with these platforms escalated after Moscow began its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
