Dear citizens of Pristina and the entire Republic of Kosovo!
In recent days, our country has been shaken by a series of violent incidents with tragic loss of lives. These are not just numbers. They're our neighbors, our friends, our family members. Their pain is our pain as a society, as institutions as a state!
What makes the situation even more disturbing is the fact that Kosovo citizens do not today have a functional government behind them, which deals seriously with their needs and security. This is for pity. The people of this state have remained with the institutions “in charge of”, while the danger every day is taking life.
As head of the capital, within my legal and moral competencies, I call on the Kosovo Police, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the judiciary and leaders of every municipality to immediately launch a co-ordinated campaign for the seizure of all illegal weapons. The action should be quick, legitimate and transparent.
This is not just a call for action. It's a moral duty. Victims are honored not only by word but by real change.
Thank you.
