The specialist at Pristina's Family Medicine Centre (QKMF), Rush Ismajli, indicated that there is a slight increase in cases of viral infections associated with vomiting, stomaching and temperature.
In an interview with Online Economy, Ismajli said most patients do not need infusions, but simple therapies and rehydration.
We've always had cases when we've had infection, mostly with viruses associated with temperature, vomiting, stomachs. Fortunately, we have news that we have a vaccine against these viruses that will eventually reduce this situation. But what comes to the situation of infusions is more medical practice is more human thinking than they really need. Most need a simple therapy, regular rehydration and the situation”, Ishmael said.
He suggests increased attention in food, especially in consuming products outside the home, mentioning that cases with slight signs of poisoning have increased.
The “is usually vomiting and inhaling, which if they're not frequent, is not disturbing because they don't cause signs of dehydration. If they have a dry mouth, a dizziness, we test blood pressure, heart rate, but in most cases they have slight and medium-sized dehydration that we do our counsel. It's going to be three or four days maximum. If they've puked, they'll manage it in their own homes. We don't try to stop vomiting, because it's not useful. What we do is rehydration. Those fluids that are lost through vomiting and intestines we return to natural routes through sufficient liquids”, the doctor said.
Ishmael said that infusions are often required without real need, since serious dehydration signs are missing.
There's a bigger number of patients asking for medical attention, but we're prepared for each case, we do the right treatment. I'm more for advice. I know that citizens are very willing to receive transfusions, but in most cases they don't need to, because they don't have signs of dehydration. Something I've recently noticed is food outside the house and it's coming with signs of poisoning, but they're not dramatic. They are cured with simple therapy, the electrolytes taken away. If they drink enough water, soup, and tea, the situation is passed, and they will soon feel good. They must take good care of their food, consume adequate amounts of vegetables, tall with running and fresh water. The same is for fruit. Not to consume salt, oil and flour”, Ismajli told Online Economy. / EO/ Periscope.
