A serious event has shocked the Itterbeek neighbourhood in Anderlecht, Belgium on Sunday evening. Local media report that a 61-year-old Albanian identified by initials N. M, owner of the popular local cafe “Maison Haute”, has been shot dead by his tenant around 20:30 Sunday.
According to witnesses, at least four shots were heard in the cafe.
Authorities confirm that the alleged author was arrested by police, while the victim, of Albanian origin, was taken to the hospital but could not survive the injuries sustained, writes a2cn.
The event has caused great shock in the community. Michèle, a resident of the Albanian neighbourhood and close friend, shows with tears in his eye: “Only yesterday at noon do we drink a glass together. He was a wonderful man, always willing to help. I had warned him one day that this tenant would bring trouble... and here we are today. ”
The lady adds that the Albanian had just returned from vacation and there was no previous conflict in the neighbourhood.
