The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Lumir Abdixhiku, has hosted the United Kingdom ambassador to Kosovo today, Jonathan Hargreaves.

Focusing on the discussion were recent political developments in the country, especially the Constitutional Court's decision on the situation in the Kosovo Assembly.

Abdixhiku stressed that the court's decision is a major victory for democracy and the Republic of Kosovo, fully confirming the position and request of the LDK, which he said was based on the Constitution and on defence of the democratic order.

He stressed that this decision clearly shows that democracy cannot be suppressed and the Constitution cannot be violated.

Full Posting:

Today I had the pleasure of waiting for the United Kingdom ambassador to Kosovo to meet. Jonathan Hargrees.
We discussed recent political developments in the country, with particular emphasis on the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the situation created in the Assembly; and our firm stand as the Democratic League of Kosovo on this issue.
I stressed before Ambassador Hargreave that today's court decision constitutes a great victory for democracy and our Republic. This decision fully confirms the right to demand and substance that we have submitted as the LDK and reinforces our clear stand, held since the first day: that democracy cannot be suppressed, and the Constitution cannot be violated.
At the end of the meeting, I expressed my gratitude for the continued support the United Kingdom has given and continues to give to the Republic of Kosovo.
