French prosecutors have now sought police assistance to officially investigate X for criminal behaviour.
The investigation was launched for numerous reasons, which are essentially summed up in: X has conducted organized interventions, write Foreign media.
To be correct, French prosecutors have alleged the following crimes against the online platform:
Organised intervention in the functioning of an automated data processing system;
Organised fraudulent data extraction from an automated data processing system.
There are also claims that Musk has used his platform to promote right-wing “groups” in France, which is another act that the judicial system can use against him.
With police assistance in the investigation, prosecutors can rely on much tougher measures to be taken against Musk and X.
Perhaps most importantly, an international warrant could be issued if X leaders fail to appear in court.
Otherwise, this is not the first time France has taken action against a platform.
Just recently, French authorities arrested the founder of the telegram: Pavel Duriv.
Durov was accused of facilitating organised crime in the telegram, something he denied.
His arrest had also been criticised by Elon Musk. /Periscope/
