Judgment of Scirir Lutvida, witness: We were beaten with iron bars and rifle bars, the accused beat me hard.

At Thursday's session at the Constitutional Court in Pristina, in the trial for war crimes against accused Shaqir Lutvija, witness Uke Kolgeci has been heard, who said he was arrested in 1998 in the village of Vraniq and later sent Serbian Army to Prizren to the fire cellar, where Serb paramilitaries [...]
We were in the village of Vraniq, there were other villages that were collected there. Then, we were surrounded by police, army of Serbian paramilitaries and divided into groups, a group of older people have thrown us into the army truck and taken us to Prizren, thrown us into the basement of the firemen, and beaten us up and beat most of them into the hospital for beating with wooden bars, rifles and iron bars. And from there we were taken into another room and waited for our turn to be interrogated by SUP and accused of terrorism”, Kolgeci declared.
In this case, Shacir Lutvija is accused of committing war crimes in the quality of inspector and police at the Prizren Police Station, reports“Justice Trust”.
Witness Kolgeci said the accused Lutvija worked in SUP after the same man questioned him and beat him.
This gentleman who's here, when he's been questioning me, he's got to pick me out, he's got his own pendrite you're trying to beat up with him, and he's lying on us two and he's been hitting me behind my back and my hands, and that's where I lost consciousness three times and I don't know what happened. Then, as long as I was sent to prison, they took me out of 18x1>, the witness said.
He said that torture has continued in prison, where another week he was interrogated and beaten every week.
Kolgeci claimed to have been five people, but they've been constantly changed, because there's been a lot of people questioning them and they've taken advantage of the opportunity to get to know each other.
And in prosecutor Ilir Morina's question, how he knew he was the defendant who had tortured him, the witness said they recognized him because of the scar on his face.
“When I was questioned in Prizren, they had a picture and I knew it because of that sign”, the witness said.
The Witness said that when she was invited to go to the police station in Prizren, she was initially questioned and later shown the photos she has now identified the accused with.
The hearing of witness Hasan Shala has continued.
As for witness Agron Hoti, who was present in the hall, the Court announced the same fact that the prosecution has withdrawn from his hearing, so it will not be heard in the quality of the witness in this trial.
At the initial session, held on September 17, 2024, Lutvija was acquitted of being charged.
The Special Prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo on September 4th 2024 has filed charges against Shaqir Lutjija, who is charged with the quality of inspector and police at the Prizren Police Station, individually and in co-ordination with other persons of Serbian police forces during the 1998-1999 period in Prizren, during wartime in Kosovo, has been practicing the depressive measures of murder, arrest, beating, torture and inhuman treatment.
The Actakuz says that according to witness testimony: Murat Kabashi, Elmi Gashi, Sefer Ejupi, Vehbi Velija, Kemajl Kolari, Uke Kolgeci, Haxhi Gashi, Safet Gashi, Hasan Shala and Arsim Zuba, accused Lutvi from 28 September 1998 to 7 October 1998, in association with other members of police forces, have undertaken a campaign for their arrest in Prizren prison, in the quality of the Albanian national population, among them: R.J., and the tall ones.
All in accordance with the indictment, Serb forces after the arrest were sent to the Prizren Police Station, on whom the accused Lutviija, along with the other defendants, in the quality of the inspector of this station, questioned the injuries and during the interrogation process have beaten them with boxing and kick, with other strong means and other methods of inhuman treatment.
In the indictment, Lutvija and other defendants reportedly used electric power tools, which they placed on their hands and on their genital organs, with céçkarst as a result of this R.J., had died, while Murat Kabashi, Elmi Gashi, Sefer Ejupi, Vehbi Velija, Kemal Kolari, Uke Kolgeci, Haxhi Gashi, Safet Gashi, Hasan Shala and Arsim Zuba suffered serious bodily injuries.
With this, Lutvi is accused of committing a joint criminal act “war crimes against the civilian population” by Article 142 concerning Article 22 of RSFJ's Criminal Law. /Periscope/
