This organisation said that “this action is cruel, illegal and absolutely unacceptable” and that “is not an isolated case, but a clear symptom of a deeper and systematic problem within the approach of the Pristina municipality to the welfare of animals”.
“Comuna has repeatedly failed to comply with legal provisions in force for the treatment and care of animals, especially Law No. 02/L-10 for Animal Peace and Administrative Guide for the shelters of associated animals” is said in response.
Bajram Gecaj, adviser to Pristina municipality chairman, has told Koha.net that the person seen in the video has left the private security company he was working on, at the request of the responsible from the capital.
The person in question has been engaged through the private security company and has not been asked to deal with the dogs at all. The person has already left the company in question at the request of the responsible from the capital”, he said.
