Serbian Office for Kosovo: Kosovo has detained three members, former Serbian MPB police officers

She said Kosovo authorities have had no “legal reasons for their arrest and that this “is politically motivated revenge against the Serbian people”, writes Radio Free Europe.

On the same day, Kosovo's acting Interior Minister, Xhelal Svecla, said he has deprived a Kosovo citizen of citizenship from the Serb community for “cenim of national security” in the country.

Svechla did not tell whether Nikola Vujovic, members of the Serbian police, has been arrested and did not provide further details about him.

The Office for Kosovo announcement mentions only the initials of detainees from the Serbian MUP: N.V., (26 years old), M.M., (28), and A.M., (36), as well as M.S., (53), who is a retired policeman.

Kosovo authorities have not commented so far about these reported detentions.

To stop with the initials N.V., the Serbian Office said Kosovo authorities have made a decision on “illegal access”.

All of them, together with families, have been living peacefully for years in Kosovo and Metohija and their duties are carried out at police directors on the territory of central Serbia. Currently, they are in custody”, the Serbian Office's statement said.

She added that for “illegal deprivation from freedom”, she will announce through diplomatic channels all international representatives, as well as EU envoy for Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Peter Sorensen.

Meanwhile, former Kosovo Special Police Unit member Arbnor Spahiu was arrested by Serbian authorities on June 7th at the border checkpoint between Hungary and Serbia, until he was returning from Austria to Kosovo by bus along with his family.

Spahiu is suspected by Serbian authorities for “grave murder in Banjska” A group of armed Serbs attacked the Kosovo Police in September 2023, killing Sergeant Africa Bulnjaku, said the lawyer committed by Spahiu's family, Arian Koci.

He added that as witnesses in the Spahiu case, specifically accused of killing three Serb attackers who clashed with the Kosovo Police in the village located in the northern part of Kosovo, some Kosovo police officials are mentioned.

Koci said the defence has already filed a complaint against the month-long detention decision.

Spahiu is currently being held at the Subotic detention centre.

Kosovo authorities have condemned Spahiu's arrest, while incumbent Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has dubbed Serbia's “abnormal behaviour” arresting Kosovo citizens. /Periscope/
